THE UNITED NATION'S ABORTION DILEMMA

JANICE SHAW CROUSE

DIRECTOR, CONCERNED WOMEN FOR AMERICA

REPORTS FROM COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN MEETING IN NEW YORK IN MARCH

Let's   review two contradictory United Nations (U.N.) talking points. (1) Abortion is a matter of "women's rights;" (2) Killing a "girl child" in the womb is "the most extreme form of violence against women." To hold both of these beliefs at the same time means to live with constant cognitive dissonance.   It doesn't take a genius to realize that the U.N. is on the horns of a dilemma; that is, the two alternatives are mutually exclusive. Holding one point of view means that you cannot believe the other proposition. How can the U.N. embrace the position that abortion is morally unobjectionable while condemning abortion for sex selection? Having the abortion option, they claim, is regrettable, but necessary. Sex selection abortion, however, is a morally reprehensible crime against the "girl child." Only in the U.N. universe would people think that this makes sense.

In spite of the logical inconsistency, the U.N. condemns "pre-natal sex selection;" branding it  a violation of human rights. UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women) supports a resolution banning sex selection abortions. One of UNIFEM's publications on eliminating violence against women begins with an acknowledgment that the abortion of females is violence against women and girls. "The range of violence against women and girls is devastating, occurring quite literally from womb to tomb. It includes: abortion of female babies. ..." In another U.N. document, the abortion of girls is identified as "violence." "Some females," it states, "fall prey to violence before they are born."

Amazingly, the U.N. admits the humanity of unborn girls: "At least 60 million girls who would otherwise be expected to be alive are 'missing' from various populations as a result of sex-selective abortions or neglect." The concept of "missing" girls is prevalent throughout the U.N. headquarters on posters and in brochures and books rightly lamenting the girls who have been aborted.

India tops the list for sex-selection abortions (called feticides) and female infanticide. Experts claim that the number of feticides in India is growing. Some experts claim that there are nearly 2 boys born for every girl since 20 million female fetuses have been aborted over the last 10 years.

China has announced that it will criminalize sex-selection abortions. Given the looming shortage of females, Chinese researchers have predicted that there will be 40 million unmarried men in mainland China by the year 2020. Experts report that such a surplus of unmarried men will, inevitably  mean more violence, including war, kidnapping, rape  and  sex trafficking. There has already been a sharp rise in crime.

The abortion dilemma of the radical feminists and other leftists at the United Nations won't be resolved anytime soon and the ramifications continue to worsen......

Letter from Molly White

Molly White, Women for Life International, organised the Endeavour ForumWorkshop “Womanhood and Motherhood”at the Commission on the Status of  Women meeting in New York

“.....Our  event  (the Endeavour Forum Workshop at the UN  Commission on the Status of Women meeting in New York)   was a huge success.  We had 60 women in attendance.  We definitely upset Planned Parenthood and they sent 5 “spies” to sit in on the workshop.  I had no problem that they were there but they took everything  and took notes on everything we said.  The response (we made evaluation forms) was very positive.  The teaching on womanhood from the Biblical perspective was very well received.  Many women responded positively.  Almost  all  the women who filled out the evaluation form liked the power point presentations and the information   from the spiritual and scientific perspectives.   Most effective were the personal testimonies.  They broke through hard hearts, and opened the eyes of the blind.  Kay Painter was with us.  She shared testimony twice.

Babette,  two women commented publicly that now they have “hope” because they are looking for God-fearing, pro-life support in their nations.  We have also rocked PP’s boat.

Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity to touch so many women’s lives and to give PP a BIG shake.  We won’t stop shaking until that giant (PP) falls.

Blessings and honor to you,    Molly.

Christian Newswire  Media Advisory March lst, 2007

The  theme for the 2007 UN’s Commission on the Status of Women  meeting in New York  was “The Elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against the girl child”.

A team of women made up of  leaders from various organizations across the US  hosted workshops on the dangers  of  abortion  to the girl child. The group states  their mission is to educate and empower women on the benefits of womanhood and motherhood and teach women how to be world changers. “Violence to the girl child through the trauma of abortion is happening in several countries around the world,” says”, Molly White, founder, Women for Life International.

The problem of abortion hurting women is ignored by the government, media and our culture says Molly  White. The team of women has experienced abortion and count themselves as expert witnesses to the physical, emotional and psychological pain and suffering that abortion causes. Cynthia Collins (Louisiana), TV Host and director of World Generation Outreach states “it is alarming how these gruesome practices have spread to almost every corner of the globe.”

Millie Lace (Arkansas), Licensed Professional Counselor and Director of the National Helpline for Abortion Recovery says that if CSW is truly pro-woman and truly wants to protect women, they should call upon governments to protect girls (and boys) from the earliest stages of life.

The team of leaders was sponsored by the Endeavor Forum, Inc., an NGO based in Australia.
