Fighting for the unborn at the UN

by Denise Mountenay, Endeavour Forum's chief NGO representative at the UN

This is the 13th year that I have been leading teams into the United Nations' Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), held at the UN headquarters in New York. This year's gathering was the CSW's 62nd session, and was held during March 12-23.

On this particular occasion, I was joined by an amazing group of women from across the United States and Canada, who had been lied to about abortion and who were determined to be a voice for our children, who have no voice, and to describe publicly the damage inflicted on women by legal abortion. Out of 10 post-abortive women, sadly, four, out of 10 could NEVER have children after their so-called "safe" abortions. We have all suffered in many ways.

We had awesome times of praise, worship and prayer in the evenings as God knit us together with cords of love that could not be broken. His angels went before us to prepare the way and open doors. His Holy Spirit filled us with His power and love and gave us courage to speak to strangers and to present impact statements at our special UN side-event.

We provided orientation for six newcomers who joined us this year. I was able to secure meetings with the UN ambassador to Swaziland and two of his counsellors, Abigail and Glenisaah. This pair and I were also interviewed for a television program to be aired in Swaziland.

We had a very successful meeting with the UN ambassador to Mozambique, in which we spoke about the humanity of children in the womb, and provided evidence of how legal abortion leads to an increased incidence of breast-cancer, cervical/uterine damage and mental health problems. Several of us personally testified how abortion both hurts women and takes the lives of our children. We warned about how UN agencies target African and South American nations to promote abortion.

We also held one-on-one meetings in which I gave presentations to delegates from the Russian Federation, Hungary and Uruguay, and to the deputy ambassador to Comoros. I also briefed these ambassadors and delegates to the UN on the horrific agenda being taught in schools throughout the developed world, by means of the controversial Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) curriculum, which has been being promoted through CSW documents. I urged delegates to denounce this blatant sexualization of children and to stop the promotion of homosexual propaganda to children. See www.StopCSE.org.

On Thursday, March 22, we had a packed room for our special UN side-event, entitled, "Where gender equality begins and access to information regarding reproductive health risks to women and girls". Even His Excellency, the UN ambassador to Nigeria, and his deputy attended our side-event, along with the deputy ambassador to Comoros and many other delegates.

Dr Ingrid Skop, an obstetrician-gynecologist with over 25 years' experience, gave an astounding PowerPoint presentation about the reality of second-trimester abortions. She documented the links between abortion and breast-cancer, how cervical/ uterine injuries in abortion result in subsequent premature births, and the mental health problems women suffer after abortion.

Dr Joel Brind, of the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, gave an excellent talk on the numerous studies and abundant evidence on how abortion increases the incidence of breast cancer.

Our team worked very hard all week to invite delegates and leaders of NGOs to attend our event, and it was a huge success. We praise God for the many open doors and opportunities to expose the evil intentions of many UN agencies, such as the UN International Children's Fund (UNICEF), the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), the Joint UN Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS), and the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), all of which have been pushing the abortion and homosexual agendas at the UN level to member-states. Some of us participated in a protest in front of the UNICEF building because that organisation has been particularly active in promoting Comprehensive Sexuality Education.

In addition, I was invited to speak at the Personhood March for Life in Manhattan, where one of the Swaziland counsellors, Glenisaah, and I shared our testimonies on the pain and damage caused by legal abortion. Sadly, Glenisaah, after her abortion, was never able to have children. We prayed together, appealing to the Courts of Heaven for justice on behalf of children being killed by abortion practitioners, and afterwards felt assured that many seeds of truth and justice had been planted for the Kingdom of God in New York City for such a time as this.

Together with other pro-life/family NGOs, we helped to influence ambassadors and delegates to denounce the language in the CSW62 document regarding so-called "reproductive rights" (e.g., abortion rights). We exposed the UN's hidden radical agenda. We declared that there is no such thing as a "safe" abortion, and that reproductive health cannot include abortions.

We warned against the push to expand homosexual rights, and asked that the CSW document drop any references to sexual orientation and gender identity.

Our success in these endeavours was a huge breakthrough.

Now we are preparing to bring a team to the UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, May 21-26, 2018, to attend the World Health Assembly and to meet with ambassadors, ministers of health, NGO leaders and delegates.

To God be all the glory!!
